ABSTRACT
This study described the present level of burnout and job satisfaction of the public school teachers of Burgos District of the Schools Division Office of Isabela and its interaction between the profile of the teachers, and the relationship of the two variables. Descriptive-correlational research was used to give information about the objectives of the study. The data showed that the respondents of the study are predominantly females and there is an almost equal distribution of respondents in terms of their highest educational attainment. Also, in terms of their profile, the majority of the public school teachers in the Burgos District have been teaching for 1-10 years. On the other hand, it has been found that there is an average level of burnout recorded among the respondents in terms of disengagement and exhaustion factors. It is an implication that they can still perform well in their respective functions, as everything is tolerable. Moreover, there is a high level of intrinsic and extrinsic satisfaction of the respondents in their jobs and their workplace. There is also no significant difference evaluated on the level of job burnout and job satisfaction of the respondents when they are grouped according to their profile and there is a significant negative correlation established between job burnout and job satisfaction which indicates an inverse relation of the two variables. With the result of the study, the researcher recommends that a teacher’s building capacity program should be established to further strengthen and improve teachers’ job satisfaction and manage burnout situations in their work.
