Marites E. Matining, Teacher III, Roxas National High School

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to determine the online/offline multimedia guide-ebook to facilitate the understanding of fundamental biological concepts like mitosis and meiosis among grade 8 learners, empowering them to utilize technology for productive studying rather than engaging in gaming or other unproductive activities. The respondents were 66 grade 8 STE learners during the SY 2022-2023. The teacher-researcher used a quasi-experimental research design that included two groups: the experimental group and the control group.s. The experimental group was exposed to the intervention (OMG-eBOOK), and both groups were assessed again afterwards to see how manipulating the independent variable affected the dependent variable. Using the mean, standard deviation, dependent t-test, independent t-test, and Cohen’s D, it revealed that the intervention has a large effect size which means that OMG-eBook enhanced the understanding of the respondents about Mitosis and Meiosis. It is then recommended that this intervention be sustained as an intervention among Grade 8 Learners and be shared with other teachers.
