ABSTRACT

This study focused on the effect of Project SIYETE on the academic achievement of the students in teaching the Mole concept to express the mass of substances. The respondents of the study were the 42 Grade 9 students who came from one section using the total enumeration technique. Data collection involved administering a 20-item test on the mole concept before and after the utilization of Project SIYETE. Mean, and standard deviation were used to identify the pre-test and post-test scores, and a paired-sample T-test was used to determine the significant differences between the pre-test and post-test before and after using the intervention. Meanwhile, Cohen’s D was used to compute the effect size of Project SIYETE. A significant difference in the student's academic achievement before and after the implementation of the intervention was noted. Thus, this confirms that the intervention is effective. From the findings and conclusion, the researcher recommends that teachers should utilize and continuously implement Project SIYETE as this has been proven to be effective in improving the academic achievement of students.
