ABSTRACT
Disaster is a natural and human-induced hazard that concerns the community. The concern over natural disasters was increasing globally, and the pandemic caused by COVID-19 made lives stagnant for over two years. This study determined the awareness of disaster preparedness of the Senior High School teachers in San Mateo North District. It offered specific programs to address and reduce the impacts of these inevitable calamities. The study used the descriptive survey research design that showed insignificant differences in the respondents' awareness of disaster preparedness when they were grouped according to sex, age, and level of training. Based on the findings, it is imperative to build awareness of disaster and create a disaster-resistant culture in the school community. A School-Based DRRM Plan called Project MAAGAP was then crafted and aligned to the SIP under resiliency and attuned to the Basic Education Report 2023 of the Department of Education called MATATAG. Also, the study recommended that DRRM should be included in the annual training of teachers.
