ABSTRACT

This study determined the effectiveness of Oplan PRO (Practical Research Optimization) in improving the research writing performance of Grade 12 students in Inquiries, Investigations, and Immersion subject. The participants in this study were composed of 4 sections of Grade 12 students from the academic and Technical-Vocational and Livelihood tracks. It used a quasi-experimental research design composing control and experimental group. The experimental group received the intervention, which utilized the use of a collaborative enhancement session facilitated by a research adviser while the comparison group did not receive any intervention. Based on the results, the control and experimental group had poor writing performance before the implementation of Oplan PRO. However, after the implementation, improvement in performance was observed for both groups, but it was significantly higher in the experimental group as indicated by large effect size. This confirmed that Oplan PRO is an effective intervention. Hence, it is recommended that Senior High Schools in SDO Isabela use Oplan PRO to improve learners' writing performance in research.
