ABSTRACT
The study determined the level of awareness and challenges in the implementation of occupational health and safety standards among employees of Tumauini National High School (TNHS). The study used total enumeration as a sampling method, consisting of 112 teacher-respondents from TNHS. It utilized a mixed method design, which revealed that the Tumauini National High School teachers are fully aware of safety procedures and health protocols to promote a safe and healthy workplace. Results showed that teachers have encountered challenges more in the workplace environment, particularly the lack of facilities like comfort rooms, the presence of emergency fire exits, and dilapidated ceilings. Furthermore, the study findings show that the level of awareness in the implementation of OHS among TNHS teachers varies significantly depending on the length of service. Based on the results, it is highly recommended to institutionalize a peer mentoring or buddy system between teachers who have long-term service and newly hired teachers during OHS-related activities and for further studies to be conducted to verify the results of the current study.
