ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to determine the effect of the utilization of Physics BINGO, a game-based enrichment activity, on the performance of Grade 10 SSC learners in Doña Aurora National High School in analyzing and understanding concepts on Electric Circuits. The experimental group of respondents was exposed to the use of the Physics BINGO game as enrichment activities in their Advanced Physics subject for four consecutive weeks while having the blended learning modality of modular and online learning. On the other hand, the control group was mainly exposed to blended learning as their learning modality without being exposed to the said enrichment activities. Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design was used as the research design. A total of 42 Grade 10-SSC learners acted as respondents. The Paired Sample t-test resulted in t-values of 6.94 and 11.13 for the control and experimental groups, respectively. Also, the t-test for Independent Samples revealed a t-critical value of 2.02, while Cohen’s d had a value of 1.05. Data analyses revealed that the respondents’ performance in analyzing and understanding Physics concepts, specifically on Electric Circuits, has significantly improved after the utilization of the Physics BINGO as an enrichment activity as it displayed a significant difference in the statistical analyses. Also, the Thematic Analysis revealed that Physics BINGO has positively affected the attitude of the respondents toward the subject and their mood as they perform the activities. It is then recommended that this game-based enrichment activity be sustained and adopted in other Physics-related topics in Science across other grade levels.
