Arturo B. Nool, Jr., Principal IV, Doña Aurora National High School, Aurora District
ABSTRACT
This study was conducted to determine the effects of school expenditures in the different programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) for Student Development, Staff Development, Curriculum Development, and Physical Facilities Development on Student Performance for the school years 2017-2018, 2018-2019 and 2019-2020. The 40 Implementing Units (IUs) in the Division of Isabela were the subjects of this study. Expenditures on PPAs for Student Development were found to have the most significant relationship with dropout rate, student achievement, and promotion rate. This manifest that the expenditures on PPAs for Student Development contributed to the reduction of the dropout rate and in the improvement of student achievement and promotion rate; hence, the PPAs were recommended to be considered in the crafting of the School Improvement Plan (SIP), Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) and Work and Financial Plan (WFP). The expenditures for Physical Facilities Development were also found to have favorable effects on the dropout rate, student achievement, and promotion rate. The PPAs for Physical Facilities Development were also recommended to be considered in planning for the Physical Facilities Development of the school. On the other hand, the expenditures in the different PPAs for Staff and Curriculum Developments were found to have no favorable effects on student achievement, dropout rate, and promotion rate. In this regard, it is recommended that school officials consider other factors that could enhance Staff and Curriculum Developments and can contribute positively to the student's performance and holistic Development when they craft their SIP, AIP and WFP.
