ABSTRACT
This study focused on the understanding of heat, light, and sound by the Grade 4 pupils at Quezon Central School after the utilization of WHY (Willingness to be Honed towards Yearning for New Learning) Strategy. This study employed a one-group pretest and posttest research design. A total of 29 learners from Grade 4 Santan served as respondents using total enumeration. Mean was used to get the average scores in tests and standard deviation to determine the homogeneity of the results. The results revealed a p-value of .000 which was less than .05, indicating a significant difference in the pupils’ pretest and posttest mean scores before and after using WHY Strategy. The eta2 value of 3.45 signifies a large effect of the WHY Strategy in enhancing the concepts of light, sound, and heat travel among Grade 4 pupils. The intervention greatly affected the respondents' scores in their understanding of heat, light, and sound. The researcher recommends the use of WHY Strategy to teach the concepts of heat, light, and sound to Grade 4 pupils.
