ABSTRACT

This descriptive-correlational study determined the implementation of the Child Protection Policy towards childrearing practices by the 18 faculty members, 134 students, and 86 parents at Villa Domingo National High School, Angadanan, Isabela. Results showed that teachers, learners, and parents are perceived to increase awareness on the Implementation of the Child Protection Policy. The identified Child-rearing practices were always practiced by the teacher- respondents while the parents and students often practiced them respectively. Furthermore, the sex profile of the teacher-respondents is not significantly related to the implementation of the Child Protection Policy, while the number of years in teaching was significantly related. Based on the study’s findings, it is recommended that policymakers must strictly monitor the proper implementation of Child Protection Policy. Parents and future parents should consider and integrate modern and traditional child-rearing practices; teachers must know child-rearing practices and establish a good relationship with parents and learners to implement the Child Protection Policy effectively. DepEd personnel through the legal unit division should spearhead seminars for teachers focusing on child protection. Future researchers should also undertake related studies integrating how the teachers’ rights are being protected.
