ABSTRACT
Games provide a way for the students to enjoy while learning the concepts or skills. Math games were found to have a positive effect on learning outcomes or students’ academic performance. Thus, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Factor Bingo Game in enhancing the factoring skills of the forty-two (42) Grade 8 Diamond students of Andabuen National High School, School Year 2020-2021 who served as participants in the study employing the total enumeration sampling technique. One Group Pretest-Posttest Design was utilized and statistical tools such as paired t-test was used to determine the significant difference in the mean scores before and after the implementation of “factor bingo game” and Eta2 was used to analyze the effect of the intervention in improving the students’ skill in factoring a polynomial. The result showed that there is an improved mastery in factoring polynomials after the utilization of the intervention. Further,it revealed that there is a significant difference in the pretest and post-test of the students. Thus, the “factor bingo game” contributed an effect to the skill of the students in factoring polynomials. It is therefore recommended that this intervention should also be used in other grade levels as additional instructional material in enhancing the skill in factoring polynomials.
