ABSTRACT

Children can begin to view the body as a system in which each part performs its functions in harmony with the other parts constituting the organism as a whole. Furthermore, they should learn that body systems work together to build a functioning human body. Hence, this study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the DDHB Strategy (Dynamic Discovery of the Human Body) in understanding the circulatory system in the human body among the grade 6 pupils of Daramuangan Sur Elementary School. The researcher used the one-group pretest-posttest research design in the study with 58 grade 6 pupils employing the universal technique. Mean, standard deviation, paired-samples t-test, and Etasquared were used to analyzed data. It revealed that the pupils’ understanding of the circulatory system in the human body significantly improved through the intervention and a large effect on their academic achievement. Hence, the researcher recommends other teachers use the DDHB strategy in teaching other learning areas.
