Daisy B. Labayog, Principal I, Pintor Elementary School
ABSTRACT
This study focused on finding the correlation of Parental Involvement [Parent-Child Discussions, Parent-Child Monitoring, and Parent-School Involvement] to the Learners’ Academic Performance. It utilized the Descriptive-Correlative Survey with a total of 132 respondents enrolled at Pintor Elementary School. Analysis of data revealed that: (a) parents are always involved in parent-child discussions and parent-child monitoring, while parents have often involved in parent-school activities; (b) there is a low positive relationship between the parental involvement in parentchild discussions and parent-child monitoring and the academic performance of their children; (c) there is a medium relationship between parental involvement on parent-child monitoring and their children’s academic performance. It is then recommended that parents play games with their children, monitor their social media exposure, know their children’s friends, and support school activities more often. Also, parents should have high involvement in all school activities because it tends to affect their children’s academic performance. For future researchers, studies with commonalities to this particular research must consider taking a wider scope, greater number of profile variables, and various research techniques that will be utilized to counter-check and validate different results regarding this study.
