ABSTRACT

The study purposely determined the effectiveness of SIMPROVISATION (Strategic Intervention Module) to the literary text comprehension skill of Senior High School students at Barucboc National High School. It utilized pre-experimental method which was one-group pretest-posttest design where the respondents were observed at two time points. Twenty-four (24) Grade 11 Senior High School students in TVL- Home Economics were the respondents selected through total enumeration. Standard deviation, mean and paired sample t-test were used to analyze the data. Generally, there was an increase in the score of the respondents from pre-test and post-test results. The intervention brought a significant difference in the students’ literary text comprehension skill after its implementation. Hence, intensification and adoption of SIMPROVISATION for 21st Century Literature in the Philippines and the World classes and lessons related to comprehending a text is encouraged. Similar studies with large sample size to other learning areas/ schools within the district/ division may also be conducted.
