Bridge and Roll Game and Vocabulary Skills of Grade 1 in Iloco, Filipino and English

ABSTRACT
Knowing the language of vocabulary is similar to using the language others use. This study was conducted to test the effectiveness of using Bridge and Roll game in honing the vocabulary skills of Grade- I Rosal using descriptive- experimental research design. The respondents were the 28 pupils of Grade – I Rosal of Minagbag Elementary School, School Year 2016-2017. Pre-test was administered to the respondents first before the intervention was used. The intervention was utilized in a manner that pupils were learning while enjoying the game. Post-test was administered after the utilization of the intervention to the same respondents. Results were tabulated and analyzed using paired samples t-test and ANOVA. Results showed that there is a significant difference in the pre-test and post-test scores after the utilization of the intervention. This implies that “Bridge and Roll Game” is an effective tool in improving the vocabulary skills of Grade 1 pupils in Iloco, Filipino, and English and is recommended to be used by other Grade 1 teachers to hone vocabulary skills of every pupil.
