Reading is primordial in the basic education learners who should have gained mastery in literacy that they may be able to attain creative and critical thinking across learning area. An initiative is launched particularly in Filipino focuses on the utilization of literature-based reading program for elementary using reading guides. It is also a project wherein to attain the mastery level of learners in correlation with the mean performance. Learning resources can be developed and utilized to address the reading gaps of learners. The project could be an engagement initiative for the teachers to improve skills in reading to address the literacy needs of the learners.
PROJECT SPARKLE: SPED Pedagogists Advocating Responsive Kids Learning towards Excellence
One of DepEd thrusts is inclusive education where learners are not left behind regardless of their level of competence and exceptionalities. Given the opportunity to be absorbed as typical learners. No disparity despite their disabilities with regards to equal opportunities in learning. Hence, this project to attain the following objectives: enhancement of skills and craft of the children with disabilities (CWD); develop transition program; intensify monitoring for the SPED program in all schools; assessment of CWDs; digitization of learning resources; strengthen network and collaboration with stakeholders; increment of learning skills of the CWDs; recognition of merits engaged by the learners; and finally establishment of Inclusive Education Learning Resource Center (ILRC).
PROJECT FIRM: Frontrunners on Innovative Research Management
Research is one of the components in the development of quality education in improving the pedagogical skills of the teachers, mentors and instructional leaders to address the prevailing learning gaps of the learners. The initiative is a springboard to develop the culture of research in the division for decision-making on literacy enhancement, analysis of data on the prevailing challenges of learning gaps, and skills enhancement of pedagogical strategies. The project encompasses the learning area of Filipino, Special Education and Mother Tongue-based multilingual education. A team is organized to form part of the research core of the FIRM.
