Distinguish mixtures from substances based on a set of properties.
Anything that occupies space and has mass is what we call matter. It can be classified as Pure substance or Mixture. As a pure substance, depending on how many type of atom it has, it can be an element or a compound. On the other hand, if a matter is a mixture, it could be homogenous or heterogenous depending on the uniformity of the components of mixture.
