Junior High School Specializations

Automotive Servicing NC I

Designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of an Automotive technician in the field of automotive servicing in accordance with industry standards. It covers the competencies required to perform gas and diesel tune-up, service automotive battery, service ignition system, test and repair wiring/lighting systems, and perform under-chassis preventive maintenance. It also includes the competencies required to receive and respond to workplace communications, work with others, demonstrate work values and practice housekeeping procedure, apply appropriate sealant/adhesive, move and position vehicle, perform mensuration and calculations, read, interpret and apply specifications, and manuals, use and apply lubricants/coolants, and perform shop maintenance.

Carpentry NC II

Designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes, and skills of carpenters in accordance with industry standards. It covers the competencies required to stakeout building lines, fabricate formworks, install framing works, install architectural ceilings, wall sheaths, panels, and floor finishes, and fabricate or install door or window jambs and panels. It also includes the competencies required to participate in workplace communication, work in a team environment, practice career professionalism, practice occupational health and safety procedures, prepare construction materials and tools, observe procedures, specifications, and manuals of instructions, perform mensuration and calculations, and maintain tools and equipment.

Consumer Electronics NC II

Designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes, and skills of an electronics technician on the core competencies and required to assemble/disassemble consumer electronic products and systems and maintain and repair audio/video products and systems, electronically-controlled domestic appliances and cellular phones in accordance with the industry standards. It also includes the competencies required to participate in workplace communication, work in a team environment, practice career professionalism, practice occupational health and safety procedure, use hand tools, perform mensuration and calculation, prepare and interpret technical drawing, apply quality standards, perform computer operations, and terminating and connecting electrical wiring and electronics circuits.

Furniture and Cabinet Making (Finishing) NC II

Designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, positive attitudes, and work values of a furniture and cabinet finisher in accordance with international standards. It covers the competencies required to perform basic preventive maintenance on spray equipment and booth, prepare surface for final coat, and apply surface coating using spray gun system. It also includes the competencies required to participate in workplace communication, work in a team environment, practice career professionalism, practice occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures, perform mensuration and calculations, interpret technical drawings and plans, observe procedures, specifications, and manuals of instructions, comply with occupational health and safety practices and 5S in the workplace, maintain tools and equipment, use hand tools, and apply quality standards.

Technical Drafting NC II

Designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the Draftsmen to gather interpret and convey information in response to workplace requirements, to identify roles and responsibilities as a member of a team, to promote career growth and advancement, to comply with regulatory and organizational requirements for occupational health and safety, on taking measurements and calculations, identifying, analyzing and interpreting symbols in plans and drawings, analyzing quality of works and performing computer operations. It includes core competencies required in technical drafting such as draft architectural layout and details and prepare computer-aided drawings. The course may include any/all of the following as elective competencies as may be required: draft structural layout and details, draft electrical and electronic layout and details, draft sanitary / plumbing layout and details, and draft mechanical layout and details.

Commercial Cooking NC II

Designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes in preparing and cooking hot and cold sauces/dressings, and desserts. It also includes the competencies required to participate in workplace communication, work in a team environment, practice career professionalism, practice occupational health and safety procedures, develop and update industry knowledge, observe workplace hygiene procedures, perform computer operations, perform workplace and safety practices, and provide effective customer service.

Dressmaking NC II

Designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a dressmaker in accordance with industry standards. It covers the competencies required to draft and cut patterns, prepare and cut materials, sew ladies' apparel, and apply finishing touches for ladies' apparel.

Building Construction(Masonry NC I)

Designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes, and skills of masons in accordance with industry standards. It covers the competencies required to prepare masonry materials and perform basic masonry works. It also includes the competencies required to receive and respond to workplace communication, work with others, demonstrate work values and practice housekeeping procedures, prepare construction materials and tools, observe procedures, specifications, and manuals of instructions, perform mensuration and calculations, and maintain tools and equipment.

Mandatory Subjects

Technical drawing

Designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes, and skills of students in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies such as preparing freehand drawing, constructing geometrical figures, orthographic projection, pictorial drawing, and performing shop maintenance. It also includes competencies in workplace communication, team work, safe use of drawing tools, and housekeeping.

Entrepreneurship

Designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable attitudes, and skills of students in accordance with workplace standards. It covers the competencies required in identifying business opportunities, planning and legalizing a business, and developing and evaluating a business plan.
