I. Narrative Report
LHES is one of the recipients of the Division of Paranaque to avail and maximize the Technokids curricula. We had our first meeting with Dr. Genie-Ann T. Santos last November 6, 2021. We started to encourage our students to join in the program. We announced the good news via our group chat or messenger classroom. Yet, only 7 grade four students availed the program due to some reasons during this time of pandemic. The consultation sessions to students is two hours per month or 30 minutes every week as per advised by the Technokids. But in Grade 4 we did it 1 hour every 2 weeks per month which is the same equivalent. After finalizing the enrollment, I gave them a pre-test via chatbot managed by Technokids Philippines. I invited my students to join my google classroom. Fridays was the chosen day to conduct our TechnoSavings Classes.
December 4, 2020 at 9:00am, Module 1 (TechnoSavings) was given to my class, we watched the video lesson together. Then I discussed the Key Terms for them to understand the words. I asked them to install google sheets on their device. I taught them how to manage their personal account and the importance of logging out after using their account for their safety and security purposes. Expected output: Screenshot of google sheet in their mobile phone. Must be shared via classroom or messenger room. The module 1 lesson was quite exciting for the kids.
Module 2 was conducted last December 11, 2020 at 9:00am with 5 topics: to navigate google sheets, understand the functions of Google Sheets, value the importance of Google sheets, create a new spreadsheet, and edit the spreadsheet. These five topics were engrossed in students' interest. They get familiarized with the application. They were amazed that this could be used in the mobile device. Their outputs were sent to messenger and others shared to my email.
Module 3 was done last January 15, 2021 due to a hectic schedule of teachers but the materials were posted and given to them ahead of time.via google classroom. It was studied by the students. When the lesson started I oftentimes introduced the key terms for them to understand the basics for spreadsheet. Students were able to learn what a cell was, how to enter the text and number labels in spreadsheets, rename and save the spreadsheets. We followed the instructions given to us from the video. Kids enjoyed and appreciated the activity.
Module 4 and 5 were conducted on the same day last February 19, 2021. We agreed that we had to merge the 2 topics so they can explore more. After prayer the Key terms were introduced to them. After that, we watched the video together then we did the hands on activity. At the end of module 4 they learned how to apply “fill series” in numeric values. How to use auto-formatting for values. Sort values are ascending order or descending order and lastly, know the importance of formatting values. The outputs were automatically shared to our messenger and classroom. It was a fun activity.
Module 5 was given on the same day as I mentioned above, learners wanted to continue the activity. Additional key terms were introduced like Adjust cells, Freeze Cells, and Merge Cells. After watching the video lesson we followed the procedures while doing the hands on. We both learned on this topic especially using the Freeze cells. This time this lesson went smoothly because we just continued the previous lesson. We just did additional commands to finish the activity. So much learning for this particular day. Outputs were sent both to the classroom and messenger. Learners were looking forward to the next topic for Module 6 to be conducted on March 5.
Last February 22, 2021 Technokids Survey was conducted to my students and their parents. They all complied for this Survey.
