Brief Description

Students will travel to Keystone, CO to experience winter recreational activities such as skiing, and winter hiking. Please help us by ensuring your student gets to school on time or early on this day so we can leave as early as possible.


Students that have a “Epic School Kids” ski pass will be able to use it at Keystone Mountain Resort where they will ski. Beginners will get free rentals and a free lesson from Keystone. More experienced skiers/snowboarders who have their own gear will ski/ride with experienced teachers/chaperones.


Students who did not turn in the paperwork to receive a “Epic School Kids” ski pass/do not have permission to ski/snowboard will accompany their classmates to encourage them and enjoy the mountains while supporting their classmates.

What Will Students be Learning?

  • Students will learn about and experience the recreational opportunities unique to Colorado. They will learn specific skills essential for success in each activity.

  • Students will make claims about whether or not winter recreation is accessible to all Denver residents.

  • Students will learn about the I-70 corridor and the region it travels through.
