Brief Description

As part of their EfS unit on Colorado Earth Science, The 5th grade will visit Rocky Mountain Arsenal to explore Colorado geography and ecosystems, and continue to grow an appreciation for Colorado’s resources.

Details

What Should Students Bring?

• dress for the weather

• Wear comfortable sneakers or hiking boots

• Bring a bottle of water

• bring or wear sunscreen

• Pack a bag lunch and snacks (bag lunches will be provided for students who require them)

What Will Students be Learning?

• Students will hike and make healthy choices

• Students will be able to explain how to prepare for a hike and demonstrate leave no trace outdoor ethics.

• Students will learn about the prairie/grassland ecosystem.
