What is YouScience® Aptitude & Career Discovery?
Discovery is the only online aptitude-based guidance platform that utilizes a series of online, brain-game-like exercises to identify your student's aptitudes, interests, and interpersonal style. Doing so matches them to 600+ in-demand careers and 6,000+ postsecondary pathways.
How it benefits you as a student:
Students will gain an unbiased view of their natural talents and how these align with various careers. They can even see local and national employers who want and need their aptitudes and skills. Armed with this valuable information, they can make smarter decisions about their personal pathway to future success.
The College, Career, and Calling Center believes that this invaluable tool will equip our students with the opportunity to explore and learn more about themselves than ever before. By understanding their aptitudes, students will be able to articulate their strengths, identify blindspots, research careers, connect with industry professionals to learn about day-to-day experiences in various fields, align their high school courses with career goals, and develop a list of colleges based on majors that interest them most. We also aim to have our faculty access this resource for students to be able to identify how students engage in the classroom and support their letters of recommendation for college, career, and military applications if they so choose.
