Written Descriptive Comments 

This is a place to start.

It is not a definitive list of ALL curricular competencies for every single curricular area. You will notice that not every comment is formatted in an identical way. Colleagues wrote these comments in a way that makes sense for them and their contexts. It is up to each teacher to decide what to write in their comments, based on their professional judgement and the students they work with, based on the learning.

The comment examples on the subsequent webpages were created by classroom educators and coordinators in the Delta School District on October 12, 2023. Academic Strategies was added February 6, 2024.

These comments are meant to be used as a guide for educators to consider, remix, and/or revise as they see fit to individualize for their students. Educators must consider the requirements as set out by the Ministry of Education and Delta-Specific Reporting Guidelines.
