Handicapped, LImited Mobility DropOff & Accessible Seating
For Graduation Day Ceremony
Handicapped and Limited Mobility Drop Off and Accessible Seating are available for Hallford Stadium.
They are two separate things. One email to Ms. Miller solves both. Read below for more information.
Handicapped and Limited Mobility Drop Off
at Hallford Stadium
Seniors with family or friends who already have a state-issued handicapped placard or license tag should use that when attempting to drop off. The automobile should use the lower parking lot for Handicapped and Limited Mobility Drop Off and Accessible Seating.
The issue is with parking the automobile AFTER DROP OFF. There will need to be a driver who can park the car in the lower lot and walk to the stadium's lower level (track level). This is about a 50-yard walk with a slight hill.
If your family or friends do not already have a state-issued handicapped placard or license tag, please email Ms. Miller with the student's name and the number of people needing a limited mobility seat or handicapped and limited mobility temporary drop-off card. One email will work.
Parking spaces are also limited, but we can issue a temporary card for this event. They worked last year to help many people celebrate our seniors' accomplishments.
During Cap & Gown Pick up, your student can pick up their requested Handicapped Temporary Passes.
Handicapped and Limited Mobility Seating
at Hallford Stadium
Seniors with family or friends who get dropped off in the lower parking lot will allow one companion (not the senior student) to push the wheelchair to and from the entrance. This distance can be up to 100 yards along the stadium's lower level, track level. The ground is a cement sidewalk and a hard rubber running track. There is no incline from the Handicapped and Limited Mobility Drop Off entrance gate to the Accessible Seating on the stadium track level.
The regular parking area is at the top of the stadium. There are a significant number of stairs. There are no ramps.
There are a limited number of accessible seats for people who request them in advance, and their one companion.
Each person needing a handicapped or limited mobility seat gets one companion seat next to them. All other family and friends must sit in the stands. It is suggested that families arrive early and try to sit in the stands nearby.
Police and security on-site will help monitor the accessible seating and the stands.
If you will be using limited mobility seating, email Ms. Miller with the student's name and the number of people needing a handicapped or limited mobility seat. One email will work.
Ms. Miller is keeping a count of the Accessible Seats requested.
During Cap & Gown Pick up, your student can pick up their requested Handicapped & Accessible Seating Temporary Passes.
Other Medical Devices
For individuals with medical needs and equipment, the security and police on site may implement a variety of safety checks for the safety and security of everyone. Last year, they did not make us go through metal detectors. This year they might. The best answer we have for the possibility of going through metal detectors or other security procedures is to think of this like going to a concert or game at Mercedes Benz Stadium. If the devices is clearly medical, such as insulin pens, Oxygen tanks or backpacks, or similar you should be fine. Water bottles were allowed last year.
If you are unsure or particularly concerned, you can email Ms. Miller and we will figure something out.
