Cap & Gown

Cap & Gown

Allowed & Not Allowed pics and descriptions on how to wear

your cap, gown, CHS stole, NHS stole, and Honor Cords.

Three of these graduates are dressed for a CHS graduation while two are not. The three people with the green checks are properly attired in their blue cap, blue gown, and white V-neck stole with gold honors cords authorized by the school. The person with the gold stole is not dressed properly for a CHS graduation. Neither of the people with the red check are wearing their cap on their heads.

NONE of these graduates are dressed properly for a CHS Graduation because none of them are wearing the CHS-issued white stole. The v-Neck stole is part of the graduation outfit and must be worn.

National Honors Society graduates wear their CHS-issued blue or white NHS Stole over the CHS stole. Both are visible.

The graduates above are dressed properly for a CHS Graduation. None of them appear to have any CHS-authorized honors cords. The graduates below area also dressed properly and appear to also be wearing gold Honors Cords.

This graduate is wearing a National Honors Society stole. To be properly dressed for CHS graduation, they would need to be wearing the CHS white with gold trim stole underneath the NHS stole.

This is similar to our CHS stoles. They actually sit against the neck at the throat more so than the pictures elsewhere on this page. The longer, pointed end goes toward the back side. We will have gold trim and an embroidered gold and blue CHS logo on the front.

Cap decorations

Allowed & Not Allowed pics and descriptions on cap decorations.

Cap decoration rules are issued from DCSD. We will enforce the guidelines.

Please be aware that arriving to CHS on Graduation morning wearing a NOT ALLOWED cap decoration will cause you to be upset. It will also force us to replace your decorated cap and replace it with a plain cap, while supplies last. If we run out of replacement caps, you will not be allowed to wear your decorated cap. You will not be dressed properly to walk. This may mean you do not get to walk. Please, please, please do not risk this harsh consequence

If you choose to decorate your cap, follow the rules.  You are not required to decorate your cap.

These caps are very cute and full of personality. Unfortunately, all of the caps here are all violating the NO 3D Decorations rule. 3D means NOT FLAT. 2D means FLAT. If you search Google with "2D Graduation Cap Topper" you will see a lot of flat ideas. When we look at your cap from the thin side, we should not see anything but flat. Paint, flat vinyl, and flat stickers usually work.

Beads, flowers, butterflies, dolls, toys, gemstones, yarn, craft dots, pompoms, folded fabric, paper origami, and rhinestones all have 3-dimensions to them.

Those who choose to decorate caps spend a lot of time and money doing so. PLEASE follow the rules.
