It is incredibly important that we teach students not only the standards, but also how to be good digital citizens. At a very early age children are exposed to and step into the world of the internet and they need to be instructed in the proper way to navigate this world. They need to learn proper digital etiquette and also how to stay safe. There are many tools available to help teach them these important life skills.
Be Internet Awesome is Google's internet safety and digital citizenship curriculum. Teachers have a large supply of lessons plans to follow to teach students in all grades about navigating the internet safety and effectively. The site also has an interactive component that allows students to play their way through learning about internet safety and digital citizenship.
