2nd grade students continue to develop their singing voices and build on the foundation created in previous years. Using curriculums such as First Steps in Music, conversational solfege, and many other resources, students are introduced to a variety of repertoire including songs and music cultures from around the world. Students build on their foundational understanding of rhythm patterns through improvisation and beginning to read and write in notation. Students will use instruments and their singing voices to perform bass lines of simple melodies.
