This year's freshmen class was welcomed to the high school for a day of assemblies and activities on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Between assemblies, junior and senior Link Crew leaders led groups of freshmen in various activities in classrooms and on tours of the school. While waiting for the busses to take them home, freshmen Zander Sage and Keiavi Deitas said they felt ready for high school. "It was a little confusing," Deitas said, "but it was good." Deitas said his only worry this year was getting hurt playing football. Deitas is on the JV team.
The freshman class has 700 students enrolled this year, up from 635 last year, according to grad mentor Jeremiah Branch. Overall enrollment is now at 2,450, slightly up from 2,393 at this time last year.
Wednesday, Sept. 4 will be the first day of classes for all students.
