What is it?
Scratch Jr is an app that allows young children to code their own stories and games. Children are introduced to the concepts of block coding and how that can be used to modify characters and objects to demonstrate learning or tell a story.
What can you do with it?
- Have students program the Scratch characters to act of a procedural piece of writing
- Students can create a program to act out the a scene or the main plot points from a story read in class
- Students can use to program characters to act out a scene from a story written by them
