Previous Conferences in the Series

The first Conference on Research in Mathematics Education in Ireland (MEI 1) was held in St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra (SPD) in 2005. The mission of the conference was to bring together those with an interest in mathematics education research in Ireland to:

discuss recent research and developments;
consider future directions for such research in Ireland; and
improve linkages and encourage research collaboration among mathematics education communities in Ireland.

Since 2005 there have been 7 MEI conferences. A link to the proceedings of each of the conferences can be found below

MEI 8 (2021): Accessing Mathematics - Inspiring Engaged Communities

MEI 8 (2021): "Accessing Mathematics: Inspiring Engaged Communities" was hosted by Dublin City University Institute of Education on the 15th and 16th of October 2021. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the conference took place online.

MEI 7 (2019): Mathematical Literacy Throughout and Beyond Education

MEI 7 (2019): "Mathematical Literacy, throughout and beyond education" took place in Dublin City University Institute of Education on the 11th and 12th of October 2019.
