Call for Papers

We are delighted to invite the submission of papers from all sectors within the field of mathematics education for MEI 9.

Submitted papers may be empirical or theoretical in nature, and all papers must be prepared using the MEI 9 stylesheet template. Please download the MEI 9 stylesheet template using the link below. The closing date for submission of papers is Monday, April 24th, 2023 May 1st, 2023. Further information regarding the submission of papers follows.

Research Papers

Research papers should be 8 A4 pages in length and must be prepared using the MEI 9 style template, which is available to download below.  The closing date for the submission of papers is April 24th, 2023 May 1st, 2023. Submissions will be handled through the ConfTool conference registration system. Please include both a pdf and .docx/.doc version of your files when submitting. The Submission and Registration Portal is accessible via the following link: https://www.conftool.com/mei9-2023/

For the presentation of a Research Poster at the conference, a paper submission is required. The paper should be 2 A4 pages in length and must be prepared using the MEI 9 style template.

Symposia

For MEI 9, we welcome the submission of proposals for symposia. A symposium should include a collection of 3-4 papers, each 2-4 A4 pages in length. The symposium should be focused on a central theme, research area or research project, providing a coherent set of papers for discussion. The symposium contributors may be from the same or different intuitions; a different lead author is required for each paper. A symposium proposal should include a one-page abstract giving an overview of the theme/focus of the symposium. Each paper should be prepared using the MEI 9 style template. The symposium leader should upload the symposium abstract and all papers for review through the ConfTool system. Please include both a pdf and .docx/.doc version of your files when submitting. All symposia will be peer reviewed, and accepted symposia will be included in the conference proceedings.

Peer-Review Process

All papers will be peer reviewed, with the decision on the review process shared with authors in June 2023. Submission of a paper includes a commitment to review one or two papers. Participants are welcome to submit more than one paper for review should they wish. Accepted papers may require revisions; the final submission of revised papers will be required by the end of July 2023. For accepted papers to be included in the proceedings, the presenting author is required to make a full registration for the conference and must commit to presenting the paper during the assigned session of the conference.
