EOC Testing
EOC Tests are required for graduation. These test happen in April and test how much you learned at the end of the course/class you just completed. You have/will have and EOC test for the following classes:
Algebra I
Algebra II
Geometry
English I
English II
Biology
U.S. History
Most students have completed all testing and classes except for U.S. History. At the end of your Senior year, you will be expected to complete this test to graduate.
ASVAB
The ASVAB is a test that is geared more for a career mindset. It has a career placement aspect that helps the military in placement of new recruits for that branch. It is a requirement for those who plan to enlist in the military, but not a requirement to graduate. If you plan to enlist or would like to take this test to help you in finding a career best suited for you, please see Mrs. Holt or the military recruiter for the branch you plan to enlist.
DCHS ASVAB date: November 26, 2024
ACT:
The ACT is a requirement to graduate from high school in Tennessee. For this reason, DCHS offers two free ACT tests during the school day, once in the spring for Juniors and once in the Fall for Seniors. If you missed taking the test in the Spring as a Junior, you have to attend the ACT test this Fall or risk losing the ability to graduate.
Free Senior Retake test is scheduled for October 29, 2024.
You will sign up during class with your teacher and school counselor.
If you wish to take the ACT again on a different day, please sign into your MyACT account and register.
If you wish to take the test, but you cannot afford the registration fee and receive/are eligible to receive free and reduced lunch, please see Mrs. Holt for a possible fee waiver.
The link below also has great practice tests if you wish to study before your test.
Good Luck!
SAT
The SAT is not a requirement to graduate but some colleges require or prefer this test over the ACT.
