State of the Schools October 2019
Jim Kent, Superintendent
October board meeting highlights:
Annual Audit:
The auditors were in on Oct. 1 and 2; we should have the formal report by Nov. 1. Audits have changed over the years. They now audit our attendance reports and pull student files randomly to make sure they are legitimate students in addition to looking at all the financial information.
NASB State Education Conference delegate:
Kent Lorens was appointed as the district’s voting delegate for the State Education Conference in November.
Vehicle bids:
The board approved the bid from Rich Reichert for the Ford Van. The board determined the bid was too low and did not accept the bid on the Chevy bus.
Other information:
Inclement weather: with the onset of winter nearing I would like to refresh everyone’s memory regarding our notifications. In the event of a weather event we will send messages through the Infinite Campus system we use for grades and attendance. Parents and students may log in to Campus and designate their preferred method of notification. Please keep in mind that if you do not answer your phone the Campus Messenger will automatically leave a message. Many times the notification is placed remotely and there is no one at the school to answer your return calls.
We will also place our events on WeatherThreat, from there it will be picked up by radio and televisions stations.
Twitter and Facebook are the other methods of notification we use. We will tweet out any announcements we have. Items that the school places on Twitter automatically post to our Facebook page.
