Link Crew

What is RCHS Link Crew?

Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, LINK Crew's goal is to provide Rock Canyon High School with a structure in which students make real connections with each other. Through this program, 9th graders learn that people at school care about them as individuals and support them through their challenges and celebrate their successes.

LINK partners 9th graders with Junior and Senior LINK Leaders who support, encourage, and connect with their LINK Crews to help them be successful in high school.

What does a Link Leader do?

Link Leaders are Juniors and Seniors that participate in a year long mentoring program with four components that contribute to 9th grade success:

#1

High School Orientation

1st day of school for 9th graders. LINK Leaders and 9th graders start building relationships and have a fun, no pressure first experience with high school. Through interactive activities, they help share ideas about how to be successful in the coming year and beyond.

#2

Academic Follow Ups

LINK Leaders support 9th graders academic success and character development through structured classroom visits: activities that promote positive attitude, work ethic, stress management, study skills, balance and inclusion.

#3

Social Follow Ups

LINK Leaders and 9th graders connect during large group activities or at school social events to increase student engagement, and promote a positive school community.

#4

Leader Initiated Contacts

LINK Leaders connect with their LINK Crew on a more casual/individual basis - like a conversation at lunch or during Access or just a smile and high 5 in the hall to check in!
