Baxter’s Adventures in 3rd Grade!
Dear Families,
I am so excited to introduce a special year-long class project: Baxter’s Adventures in 3rd Grade! 🦬✨
Our school mascot, Baxter the Bison, will be joining each student for one week this year, starting the first week of September! Baxter is a small stuffed animal who will come home with your child on Friday and return to school the following Friday. Along with Baxter, your child will take home a notebook titled "Baxter’s Adventures in 3rd Grade" to record their time together.
What to Do During Your Week With Baxter:
Your child can bring Baxter wherever your week takes you: whether that’s soccer practice, the grocery store, grandma’s house, or just hanging out at home!
In the notebook, your child should document Baxter’s adventures through:
Writing a short story or reflection
Drawing pictures
Adding real photos or keepsakes (like a ticket stub or brochure)
Anything creative!
Your child will have up to 4 pages to fill—but they are not required to use all 4 pages; a minimum of 1 page is needed.
Once your child returns Baxter and the notebook, they will have a chance to share their adventure with the class!
Important Notes:
✅ Please help your child care for Baxter during the week.
✅ Keep him clean and safe.
✅ Try to keep him away from pets, food, or any messy situations.
✅ Help your child return Baxter and the notebook by the following Friday, so the next student can begin their adventure on time.
Our goal is for Baxter to get to know every student in the class and create a treasured keepsake full of fun and memories by the end of the school year!
Thank you for supporting this fun and meaningful classroom tradition. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Warmly,
Mrs. Patel
Let the adventures begin!
