At-Home Learning Expectations

Nightly: Students are expected to read for at least 15 to 20 minutes each night. This daily habit builds strong literacy skills and supports long-term academic success. Students should also be practicing their math facts.

While most work will be completed during class, there may be rare occasions when your child will need to finish something at home, especially if class time wasn’t used wisely due to off-task behavior. If this happens, I will message you directly to keep you informed. That said, these situations should be extremely rare, as we believe every student is capable of doing their best during the school day.

If there is homework or a special project to complete, I will send clear instructions and due dates in advance.

In addition to nightly reading, students are encouraged to explore the online learning resources available through their Clever account. Login QR codes will be attached to Thursday Folders to help your child easily access these tools. These programs help build skills in reading, math, technology, and more:

Recommended Clever Resources:

Reading:

Math:

Typing & Technology:

Science & Exploration:

Social-Emotional Learning & Mindfulness:

Some of these programs can be used directly at home, while others must be accessed through your child’s Clever account. If login information is needed, please check each Clever app or contact Mrs. Patel for help.

Let’s keep learning fun, consistent, and connected, both at school and at home!
