Qualitative vs Quantitative

Let's examine how a scientist thinks and looks at the world around him or her and how things relate to one another. Science is every where around us, and we must take the time to think critically about it.

Here is a great introduction video filmed by a Scientist here in Utah.

When we look at the world around us, our observations fit into one of two categories. They are either Qualitative or Quantitative. It is pretty easy to remember if you this little trick. QuaNtitative has an "N" in it and it uses Numbers and tools. So think "N" for numbers and Quantitative. If there are no numbers then it will be a Qualitative observation or using your 5 senses or about the quality of something.
