7th Grade Choir

This course lasts one semester or one year with a concert at the end of each quarter. Skills developed include:

• Vocal technique and breathing

• Use of Kodaly solfege syllables

• Use of Takadimi rhythm syllables for simple meters

• Reading music in the treble clef

• Sight-reading music in the treble clef in major keys and simple meters

• Singing in two- and three-part harmony

• Performance etiquette
