If you are already a pet owner...
You can give more attention to your pets, then your pet will grow more fond of you.
Give their spaces more daily cleanses
Check on them every few hours so they don't end up doing something bad
Take them outside to enjoy the fresh air, that way you and your pet both can have exersice and fresh air
Let them out of their cages more often if your pet is a bird so that they can enjoy the life outside of a cage forever
Clean their food and water more often and they will have less chances of being poisoned
Make sure they are not very lonely so they won't runaway and feel bad
Give them a bigger cage or special space so they can play around and have fun!
How can I help if I do not have a pet, but I want one?
Do careful research about the pet you're looking for.
Check your local area for any shelters or rescues before getting a pet from a pet store.
Donate your time or extra money to a rescue or shelter that you feel that needs help.
Tell your friends and family about the importance of spaying and neutering of a pet.
Do a project telling everyone about facts about a stray animal.
Raise awareness with posters.
If you find a stray animal, check it with a shelter if the animal has a microchip that might have information about the owner.
Organize a food drive to get money and supplies that you can donate to a shelter.

Ask yourself these questions if you are thinking of buying/adopting a pet:
Do I have time for the pet?
Do I have enough experience for a pet?
Do I have the patience needed for training my pet?
Do I have the attention needed for a pet?
Do I have the right environment for my pet?
Do I commit to making a pet part of my family?
Do I have another pet that might not get along with my new pet?
Can I afford the medical costs and my pet?
