Mr Casey is a primary teacher with a wealth of experience in both the UK and in Thailand. He has taught in Year 3-6 for his whole career as a class teacher, as well as being Curriculum Lead for a range of subjects. He has been at Denla British School for three years, and has had the pleasure of leading the student council, coaching sports teams, and his role as Deputy Head of Year 3 and 4. 

Mr Casey is dedicated to building a school environment which fosters wellbeing and academic progress, with every student receiving the meaningful learning experiences they deserve. He is passionate about developing reasoning and problem solving skills in mathematics, improving English skills through high quality teaching and promoting a love of reading. Outside of school, he enjoys playing football, chess, playing guitar and reading. 

Originally from the South West of England, Mr Young is excited to be joining the Denla British School community and becoming part of its vibrant international environment. He has over 15 years of teaching experience and studied Primary Education at Plymouth Marjon University. Throughout his career, he has taught in a variety of mainstream schools across the UK and has held several leadership positions focused on raising standards in teaching and learning.

Mr Young is passionate about creating engaging and meaningful learning experiences and is always seeking opportunities to bring real-world experiences into the classroom. He is committed to ensuring that every child is supported, challenged, and encouraged to achieve their full potential through interactive and inspiring lessons. A keen reader of children’s literature, Mr Young hopes to share his enthusiasm for reading and foster a lifelong love of learning within his classroom.

Outside of school, Mr Young enjoys spending time with his family, including his daughter, who will also be joining the DBS community. He enjoys exploring new places, meeting new people, and keeping active through a variety of sports.

Miss Trivedi is from North West London in England. She gained her BSc Honours in Psychology at The University of Reading in 2016. Having thoroughly enjoyed learning about child development, cognition and learning, she then pursued a PGCE in Primary Education at Brunel University. Since gaining her Qualified Teacher Status in 2018, she has worked in a primary school in Greater London before commencing her role as Year 2 teacher and later Head of Year 1 and 2 at DBS. 

Miss Trivedi enjoys planning and preparing a range of lessons for children. Miss Trivedi aims to ensure that children are provided with exciting enrichment opportunities and so she loves planning external trips and even enrichment days to take place in school. She aspires to ensure that all children are able to be reflective, creative and aspirational learners and take these skills with them as they grow into lifelong learners. 

When not teaching, Miss Trivedi enjoys spending time exploring new places, especially when the weather is pleasant! She loves travelling and has been able to visit a number of countries in SouthEast Asia since moving to Thailand in 2022. 

Miss Scott is from Kent, England. She studied Education Studies, specialising in Special and Inclusive Education, at the University of Winchester, where she earned her BA Honours before going on to gain Qualified Teacher Status.

Before joining DBS, Miss Scott led whole-school initiatives as Science Lead and Growth Mindset Lead. At DBS, she has previously held the roles of Pre-Prep English Coordinator and Pre-Prep Reading Coordinator. She believes that learning to read is one of the most important skills a child can develop, opening doors to imagination, knowledge and independence.

Miss Scott enjoys creating lessons that are hands-on, engaging and inclusive. She believes that children thrive in a happy, positive classroom where they feel safe, valued and celebrated for their individuality. Through clear routines, nurturing support and high expectations, she encourages children to develop independence, resilience and confidence in themselves, while building a lifelong love of learning.

Since moving to Thailand, Miss Scott has taken up Muay Thai as a hobby and loves an adventure. She enjoys travelling, learning about different cultures, trying new foods, celebrating traditions and meeting new people along the way.

Mr Eckersley is a primary school teacher from Manchester, UK, and will be beginning his fifth year at DBS. In his early twenties, Mr Eckersley studied in Finland and taught English in Bangkok and Seoul, where he developed a love of teaching and immersing himself in different cultures. He received his Bachelor's degree from University of York and achieved an ‘Outstanding’ grade on his PGCE from University of Manchester. He then taught in Manchester for three years before moving to Thailand.

He was trained in the ‘mastery approach’ to mathematics and enjoys creating varied, stimulating, and challenging maths lessons. He is currently the Maths Subject Lead at DBS and loves working with primary-aged children to help students excel mathematically.

In England, he worked with The Children's Shakespeare Festival, taking his classes to perform in professional theatres across the UK, and he enjoys incorporating drama into the classroom. Another of his passions is music. He has previously worked on primary music projects with the Hallé Orchestra and enjoys using music in the classroom to engage students. He is very much looking forward to meeting his new class!

Miss Hause is from Essex in England. She gained her BA honours in Physical Education at Brighton University. She then completed her teacher training at a local school where she gained her Qualified Teacher Status.

Miss Hause believes in creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for all children. She ensures that lessons are fun and engaging to enable children to become inquisitive learners. Miss Hause recognises the importance of supporting children’s interests and encouraging them to explore and develop their independence. She is determined to provide an imaginative curriculum to create and inspire avid learners.

When not teaching, Miss Hause enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoys reading, drawing and exploring nature. Miss Hause would describe herself as an exercise enthusiast, she enjoys running, playing netball and trying new activities. Since living in Thailand, Miss Hause has enjoyed travelling to different countries, learning about new cultures and ways of life and trying lots of delicious food!

Miss Chavda is from Leicester, England. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Education Studies from De Montfort University and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Leicester. Before joining DBS, she taught in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in the UK.

Miss Chavda is passionate about creating a positive and engaging classroom where children feel happy, supported and confident to learn. She believes every child should feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. She enjoys helping pupils develop independence, curiosity and a love of learning, while celebrating the diversity and experiences that make each child unique.

Outside of school, Miss Chavda enjoys dancing and has trained in Classical Indian, Bollywood and contemporary dance. She has performed at events across the UK and internationally, sharing her passion for dance with different audiences. She loves travelling, exploring different cultures and trying new foods. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, discovering new places and embracing new experiences.

Mr Spooner was born and raised in London, England. In 2011, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Drama degree. After graduating, he volunteered in various schools for 18 months which is where he became inspired to work with young children. This led him to becoming a teaching assistant, in which he learnt about teaching and schooling environments. Due to this positive experience, he then went on to gain his Qualified Teachers Status in 2014 through a PGCE, specialising in Mathematics.

As a Mathematics Specialist teacher, Mr Spooner has studied and cultivated teaching styles and techniques, aimed to ‘lift the lid’ off the way in which children interact with Mathematics, and create a feeling of passion and ownership. Within his journey, he has led initiatives through the job role of Head of Primary Mathematics within a previous post for 3 years.

Mr Spooner embodies the ‘Growth Mindset’ concept and is a firm believer in the phrase, ‘I can’. He enjoys empowering students to reflect, build resilience and challenges them to not be afraid of failure. His favourite saying is, ‘It’s okay to fail; it is not okay to do nothing about it!’ Mr Spooner loves working with children, and  has worked in schools across Asia, in China, Malaysia and now Thailand. At DBS, Mr Spooner has led on the integration of online learning platforms within the Pre-prep such as EducationCity.

As a proud father of one, Mr Spooner thoroughly enjoys family time. He is also a lover of exercise, particularly running, swimming and the gym. In addition, he also enjoys going to the theatre and travelling to new countries as it is a great way to see and explore.
