Miss Batson is from London, England, and studied at the University of Reading. She gained First Class BA honours in Primary Education with a Music Specialism, and completed valuable teaching experiences in several year groups and special needs settings. Since qualifying eight years ago, Miss Batson taught in Early Years in the UK before commencing her role at DBS in 2022, and as Deputy Head of Early Years a year later. This year she is looking forward to expanding her teaching practice in Year 1.

Miss Batson has loved learning for as long as she can remember, and puts all of her effort into planning and delivering creative, inspiring and engaging lessons. She is passionate about developing independent, resilient learners in an ever-changing world. She firmly believes that every child should feel valued, safe and special in order to reach their full potential through meaningful learning opportunities. 

When she is not teaching, Miss Batson enjoys listening to audiobooks and being active outside. She is also a member of the DBS Staff Band and enjoys regularly singing and performing with other members of the school community. Miss Batson loves travelling in her spare time and experiencing new places, cultures and food!

Mr. Diaz graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education and later earned a Master's in Education in 2004. His teaching career began in the USA, where he worked at a demonstration school for six years before moving to Thailand in 2005. Since then, he has thoroughly enjoyed teaching in Thailand, embracing the local culture to enhance his teaching style while also appreciating the country's diverse landscapes and delicious cuisine.

Mr. Diaz joined DBS in 2019 and has taught across various year groups, including Nursery, Reception, Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5. His vast teaching experience has allowed him to develop a strong connection with his students, and he brings valuable pastoral care to his role, ensuring a well-rounded approach to education. He is now focused on his work with Year 5. Throughout his teaching career, he has always encouraged and motivated his students to use English throughout the day, promoting a more immersive learning environment.

Outside of teaching, Mr. Diaz is passionate about reading, cycling, and playing basketball. He is also an avid Arsenal supporter, always following the team's progress and enjoying the excitement of football. Mr. Diaz's son, Santi, also attends Denla British School, further deepening his connection with the community. His personal experiences as a parent help him bring an even more thoughtful perspective to his role as an educator, further enhancing his ability to support his students and their families.

Mrs Fineman is from Chard in England. She studied Sports Science at Southampton Solent University, where she gained her BSc, before completing her PGCE at Bath Spa University. Mrs Fineman qualified as a teacher in 2014 and has over 10 years of teaching experience across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 in England, France, and Bangkok. 

Mrs Fineman is currently the Science Lead at her school and has lead the school through the Primary Science Quality Mark process. She is passionate about creating engaging, creative, and hands-on lessons, with a classroom that runs as a calm hive of activity. Mrs Fineman believes every child should develop a lifelong love of learning and feel proud of who they are and what they achieve. She is dedicated to nurturing curiosity, confidence, and independence in all of her students. 

Outside of teaching, Mrs Fineman enjoys embracing an active and adventurous lifestyle. She loves challenging herself through CrossFit, exploring the beauty of the South West Coast Path on long coastal walks, and spending time camping outdoors with her family. Whether it’s discovering new places, enjoying the fresh air, or making memories with loved ones, Mrs Fineman values the balance of adventure, wellbeing, and family life outside the classroom.

Mr. Petricca is a passionate educator with experience teaching in both primary and secondary schools. Originally from Staffordshire, he began his teaching career in local schools before moving to Asia in 2018. Since then, he has taught in Vietnam and Singapore, focusing on the Key Stage 1 and 2 curriculum, which he finds especially rewarding. Mr. Petricca is dedicated to creating a happy, safe, and inclusive classroom where all children are supported to reach their full potential. He encourages important values such as resilience, integrity, and kindness, and works hard to build a positive and respectful learning environment.

Outside the classroom, Mr. Petricca enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also keeps active through Brazilian jiu-jitsu, a martial art that focuses on ground fighting and self-defence.

Miss Quevatre was born and raised on the island of Guernsey in the Channel Islands. She knew she wanted to be a Primary School Teacher from a young age and worked hard to achieve her goal. She went to Oxford Brookes University and studied Primary Education, graduating and achieving Qualified Teacher Status in 2011. 

Miss Quevatre is passionate about encouraging a love of learning in children through creating exciting and engaging learning opportunities. She cultivates a positive, inclusive learning environment where all children feel they belong through positive relationships, clear and consistent routines and high expectations. Miss Quevatre feels it is important to recognise the individuality of all children in her class and help support them in the way they need on their learning journey.

Miss Quevatre is extremely excited to explore all that Thailand has to offer with her partner and three young children. She loves to experience new countries and cultures and is also enjoying discovering new cuisine! When not at school, Miss Quevatre loves being active; going out running and playing netball. Reading is one of her big passions and she never goes anywhere without her kindle! But her favourite way to spend her time is out in nature on long walks with her family.

Mr. Brown is originally from Scotland and has been teaching in Southeast Asia for the past 10 years. He graduated with a BA Honours Degree in Social Sciences (Criminology and Sociology) from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2015 and, shortly thereafter, discovered his passion for teaching. This led him to complete a PGCE and MA in Education with the University of Nottingham whilst gaining a broad range of invaluable teaching experience.

Mr. Brown taught English to Matthayom 2 students for five years at Assumption College, Bangrak, before transitioning to Lower Primary teaching in 2021 at Rasami British International School in the Victory Monument area. He spent four years at RBIS teaching KS1 and 2, thus developing and diversifying his pedagogy beyond language acquisition. Mr. Brown loves facilitating practical, thought-provoking learning experiences which promote pupil autonomy and anchor lesson content to students’ lives and interests. Whether adopting the role of shopkeepers in a Maths lesson about money or experimenting with different design techniques in a "Build the Sturdiest Tower" Science investigation, his aim is to grow students' confidence alongside their subject matter knowledge. Likewise, Mr. Brown believes in balancing teamwork with healthy competition, hence why his lessons often culminate in group activities which allow learners to overcome challenges collaboratively whilst pursuing team points and the rewards they unlock.

When he is not at school, Mr. Brown enjoys a variety of hobbies, from cycling to singing, and relishes travelling with his wife to different, exciting places across Asia (with Japan being a personal favourite). He is currently teaching in Malaysia, where he has been lucky to experience new cultures, foods and languages, but is delighted to be joining the DBS community upon his return to Thailand - the country he feels most at home.
