In this section you will find useful information on how to manage iPads at home.
As with any electronic device it is important to remember that moderation is key. Every household will have different rules around when and where children can use devices such as gaming consoles, personal computers, televisions, tablets and phones.
Apple has many features built into their devices to assist with setting screen time and what your children can and can not access on the iPad at any given time.
This page is designed to help you manage the iPad in a way that allows you to restrict usage to suit your household rules.
Screen Time is a new and important component to Apple's iPad Operating System (iOS). It is built into the iPad's existing software and requires no downloading and minimal setup. To use Screen Time it is important that you manage a students account through Family Sharing. This can be achieved by setting up your own Personal Apple ID then setting up the Create a Child Account. This will allow you to manage all aspects of a child owned iPad. Including: App Downloads, Content Restrictions and setting screen time limits. You are also able to lock an iPad remotely and find a missing iPad. Please watch the following Apple links on how to set up Apple ID's, Family Sharing and setting Screen Time.
With Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time, you can block or limit specific apps and features on your child's device. And restrict the settings on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch for explicit content, purchases and downloads, and privacy.
With Family Sharing, you can create an Apple ID for your child. This allows them to participate in Family Sharing and use other Apple services such as iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime and Game Center.
