Toukley Neighbourhood Centre: FOOD CARE, Toukley
Lakes Food Care is a grocery shop that helps people in the local community and surrounding areas. It is 'A hand up. not a hand out' and supported by Foodbank NSW, providing rescued low cost groceries that are generally close to their use by date but perfectly ok for consumption.
Students attending LFC will help to unstack the truck on arrival, as well as to restock shelves and on occasion, will have the opportunity to meet and greet customers.
ANZAC DAY and "Honour Our Fallen"
Students are encouraged to participate in ANZAC Day ceremonies on the Coast including at Toukley RSL and there will be opportunities for students to be involved in "Honour Our Fallen." Honour Our Fallen has a mission to ensure a flag is erected each Anzac Day on every grave or memorial plaque in Australia to honour those who have served their country. Last year students from MCC participated in this project, erecting flags on the graves of ex-servicemen and woman at Palmdale cemetery. We hope to have an even larger number of students partake in this initiative.
Camp Breakaway, San Remo - Wednesday (variety of dates throughout Term 1)
