JOSEPHITES UNDERTAKING MISSION PROJECTS

We, as a Catholic College, a MacKillop school in the Josephite tradition, are also called to action. We are called to give generously to those around us who are in need. This is a fundamental characteristic to serve those in our community who are in need.

The primary aim of the JUMP initiative at MacKillop is to encourage our students to serve others in a positive spirit. We hope that students will identify areas of need and service in their home, their school, their local area and in the broader national and international community. By seeking practical ways to make a difference in the lives of those around them and in the world they learn to live the true meaning of the Gospel.

Students will be given the following resources to assist them in service work. It is to be noted that written reflection is an integral part of our project whereby students are encouraged to reflect on needs and also on the service they have provided.

1. MCC JUMP Handbook to record their action with a section for reflection/evaluation

2. A copy of the College insurance policy (this covers all students doing community service work)

3. Ideas for ways to complete the program

NB: this is in the 'Resources'  tab of this website and is also available on the College website.
