An educational trip for Five days to Himachal from “Resonance chemical society” Department of chemistry Deshbandhu College-(30th March to 3rd April 2016)
In April 2016, Chemical Society organized an educational trip of 31 students “To understand the methodology to develop variety of tea from tea leaves (Industrial method and lab Method)”as advised by Dr. UshaArora under the guidance of Dr. Ruby Mishra, Dr. Archana Milhotra, Mr. Sanjay and technical assistant Ms. Sheela.
Students visited the Dharamsala tea company(Himachal Pradesh) and got to see the different processes (Plucking, Withering, Disruption,Fermentation, Fixation, Rolling and Drying) of making tea from tea leaves.

Trip included Kangra,Palampur,Dharamsala and McLeod Ganj.
We started our journey with the famous Kangra fort which was built by Raja Susharma Chand Katoch. Raja Katoch reference is also found in the great epic Mahabharata. The famous Kangra fort has faced many wars. There is a temple of Kangra Devi also known as the Vajreshwari Devi temple.
Day two started with Tea garden in Palampur- The town has derived its name from the local word palum, meaning lots of water. There are numerous streams flowing from the mountains to the plains from Palampur.
Palampur is a green hill station- the tea capital of northwest India and also has the beautiful temples and buildings built in the Colonial period.
Bhagsu water fall-Located one km from McLeod Ganj is an ancient A freshwater spring, in which pilgrims to take a holy dip flows through the temple. A beautiful waterfall, well worth visiting, is located about a 20-minute walk from the temple.

The Dalai Lama Temple Complex is a beautiful and peaceful place located in Upper Dharamshala, just a short walk away from the McleodGanj Bus Stand. Decorated with the colourful prayer flags., it’s perfect for long serene walks, or early morning meditation with chanting monks.

Baijnath Temple- 16 kms from Palampur in the Beas valley, Baijnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The exterior walls of the temple have numerous alcoves with images of gods and Goddesses from the Hindu pantheon.The temple complex acquires lush green gardens, which makes a perfect foreground to the ancient and unique structure of this temple.
