The department offers undergraduate courses in Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry. These courses are academically rigorous and their syllabi comprise of Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry along with related fields like Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Science with an emphasis both on fundamental and applied parts. The students may thus opt for Green Chemistry, Environment Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Bio-technology, Analytical Chemistry etc. 

The highly experienced and dedicated teaching faculty is committed to guide students at every step and grooms them to become academically sound. The department has four state-of-art Chemistry laboratories with latest equipments along with all lab safety measures and a very supporting laboratory staff to help students gain experimental hands-on experience. 

The Department lays emphasis on research at the undergraduate level as several students are associated with research projects sanctioned by UGC and DST to the departmental faculty. The teaching faculty is actively involved in guiding summer projects and research projects funded by DBT star college scheme and the Government of India. 

The students are encouraged to actively participate in the intercollege activities organized by the chemical society "Resonance". Lecture Series are frequently arranged in the department to keep the students well versed with the latest in Chemistry around the globe. Students of Chemistry (Hons.) and Industrial Chemistry are encouraged to showcase their creative writing skills under "RE-ACTIVE" wall magazine. It is a matter of great pride that our alumni are pursuing higher education in reputed institutions of the country and are successfully placed in their careers.
