Happy Thursday, EV Families, 

We have had such a special week here at East View! Our staff and students were so excited to welcome and enjoy time with many grandparents!  We hope to have more visitors like this soon! Thank you for taking the time to register each grandparent, as this made our luncheons run smoothly. 

We also had picture day with lots of smiles, and SONshine night for all males students tonight! There is so much to celebrate! Additonally, NO SCHOOL TOMORROW! Have a wonderful 3-day weekend!

**SPECIAL SHOUT OUT to our parent volunteers for supporting these special events ~ working the drink table, serving grandparents, creating decorations, helping with set up and take down, and supporting picture day! YOU ARE SIMPLY THE BEST! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Happy Friday Evening, EV Families, 

This week during our Morning Meeting, I showed a short video clip of quarterback, Kirk Cousins, stating "People think that you don't need academics to make it in sports... but even as the quarterback, you kind of do." We went even further and talked about how every job in our community involves learning of some sort - whether it is to read or write a recipe and do calculations as a chef, or having to study all week like famous NFL quarterbacks to prepare for the big game on Sunday. Either way, the need for academics will always be there! 

As stated in previous memos, our learning goal this year is to "get better every day", even if it's just a little bit at a time. Students have been so responsive to this in my morning class visits. Some will even shout out to me, "I'm going to get better today, Mrs. Grigsby!" This is all we can really ask of them, of anyone. To get a little better at learning how to read and write, working with numbers, being kind and respectful, listening and understanding others' feelings, etc. The list goes on and on.  

We all truly have the ability to learn and grow. We just have to find that passion and drive to start and continue to push forward! I know we sure are working hard to do just that here at East View! #HereCometheSuns

Happy Friday Evening, EV Families, 

The staff and I want to wish you a wonderful, relaxing, yet FUN, 3-day WEEKEND!! Your child deserves this time to refresh and rejuvenate after 3.5 weeks of school! We have been so proud of their effort and dedication to be Respectful, Responsible, Safe, and Kind AND to "get better every day"!    

We will see the students back on Tuesday, September 5th!
