How to read session descriptions:
Childcare will be provided for those school aged children (Pre-K - 5th Grade) who require supervision. Parents will be responsible for providing lunch and supervising children during the 90 minute lunch break. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in this service.
Below you will find information about Support Staff specialized sessions that will be going on throughout the day.
Teacher Assistants, this one is designed especially for you! We will be exploring two hot topics: What we can do to support each other and improve ourselves? How can we continue to grow and learn new skills so we can better serve our students? When we finish the session, stay and have lunch with us - our treat!
This session will incorporate a series of online webinars for continuing education in the area of speech/language pathology. This session will last the entire Davie Experience and include a variety of topics in current diagnosis, planning and treatment of speech/language disorders.
On-line continuing education in one of the following: 1) Nurse, Take Care of Thy Self 2) Infection Control 3) Meeting the Challenge of Pediatric Pain Patients 4) An Action Plan for Cultural Competence 5) Medication Non-adherence. All on-line CEUs are available free through SNANC (School Nurse Association of North Carolina) website.
This meeting will include recent updates in student data collection, including special programs for hurricane displacement. We will discuss upcoming state reports, which include the Student Activity Report, AIG report, and the Legislative Class Size report. Discussion will also include any updates or changes needed for PowerSchool Registration for students registering for the 2019-2020 school year.
During this session Behavior Support Specialists will focus on planning and preparing potential presentations for different school/teacher needs around behavior management.
