Classroom Management

Classroom Management is one of the most important aspects of classroom teaching. The ability to apply and uphold expectations are a critical part of maintaining student and faculty relationships within the building.

  • Every teacher will handle discipline issues differently from their peers. If you work as a group be consistent with discipline and classroom management. Remember we want students to enjoy and acquire knowledge about nutrition and exercise habits. We want them to take this knowledge and enjoy the proper ways to eat and exercise as each individual ages.

  • If students do not participate or dress out then PE teacher will send them to Student Management with a zero for the day, teacher assigned extra exercises (25 sit-ups/25 push-ups), sent to a moderator/teacher or to an administrator for further discipline.

  • A teacher must be able to act professional and know how to exemplify fun in class. My first goal of class is to begin with a fist bump/high five. Students need to know they are important when he/she walks into class. My second goal is to remain positive with all students. I want to understand my students first to have the ability to establish a year to three or four year relationship with them. I am able to incorporate themselves into a class activity. I can set a standard without being rude and mean. Overall, I want to instill fairness and firmness within your rules and expectations. If we say it, we must act upon the rule.
