Law schools rarely grant candidate interviews. Thus, the documents submitted with your application (in addition to your transcripts, test scores and letters of recommendation) are important in helping admissions representatives get to know you. These documents can include a personal statement, supplemental/optional essays, an addenda and a resume.
For all documents, be aware of the following:
Follow each school's instructions for requested documents (a prompt if presented; margins, page or word parameters)
Be prepared to write revisions
Have multiple people review it (prelaw advisor, professors or the Davidson Writing Center are all great options).
All essays are viewed as writing exercises. Pay attention to grammar and spelling/typos
